A free scan takes about a minute of your time and needs no account.

Steps

  1. Go to rank.zalize.com and find the scan form.
  2. Enter your business name — exactly as customers would know it. The scan matches this name (and close variants) in AI answers, so use the real brand name, not a legal entity name nobody searches for.
  3. Enter your website so the report can check citations against your domain and run the website diagnosis.
  4. Pick your industry and location. These decide which of the 29 buyer-question templates are used — a dentist in Berlin gets different questions than a SaaS company.
  5. Start the scan. It runs in your browser tab; a progress view shows each question being asked. Most scans finish in a few minutes.

What you get

When the scan finishes you are redirected to a permanent report at rank.zalize.com/r/<id>. The link does not expire for a year and is safe to share with colleagues. The report includes:

  • your A–F grade and overall mention rate
  • a per-question breakdown of where you appeared and where you didn't
  • the competitor table — who the AI recommended instead, and how often
  • the Citation Gap — which sources AI answers cited, and whether your domain is among them
  • the website diagnosis — 9 automated checks of your own site's AI-readiness

Tips for a fair result

  • Use the name customers use. If your brand is "Acme Dental" but your site says "Acme Dental Care GmbH", scan as "Acme Dental".
  • One scan per brand. Sub-brands and locations with distinct names deserve their own scans.
  • Don't over-read a single scan. AI answers vary between runs; one scan is a snapshot. Trends only become meaningful with weekly monitoring.
